San Pedro´s church

igrexa portomarin
Church of San Pedro
Dating back to the 10th century and declared a Historic-Artistic Monument, this Romanesque church was consecrated in 1182 by Bishop Rodrigo II of Lugo.

Like San Nicolás, San Pedro was relocated stone by stone from the original town during the construction of the Belesar Reservoir. The church’s Romanesque portal is adorned with semicircular arches and archivolts decorated with geometric patterns. Inside, you’ll find the tomb of the Marqués de Bóveda and a remarkable 16th-century altarpiece.
