Mountains and Oribio river

It is undoubtedly this unique location that makes Triacastela the end of the pilgrim's stage since the Middle Ages, as recorded in the Calixtine Codex, which identifies it as the end of the penultimate stage of the Camino, of the thirteen existing from the Pyrenees.
On the descent towards Triacastela, the imposing Serra do Oribio accompanies the walkers. To their right they can see how the Monte da Meda rises majestically, which in turn is born when the Montes da Albela end. And in the middle of all the mountains that surround the municipality, there is the lowest mountain area that houses the forts that still remain unexcavated (Triacastela, Santalla, Lagares and Cancelo), and which is believed to be the origin of the Triacastela toponym.
There is a river beach and rest area by the river.
