Santa María´s collegiate church
The Santa María´s collegiate church was built on the site of an ancient monastery of the Cluniac Order, which in the 12th century served as lodging for French pilgrims and promoted viticultural agriculture.
The current building, an example of 16th-century Bercian architecture, was commissioned by the Marquess of Villafranca, Pedro de Toledo, and its construction spanned 200 years, incorporating later elements.
The interior is notable for its vaults and dome, which house altarpieces and a Baroque-Rococo choir.
