San Miguel´s stone cross
The San Miguel Cross stands beside the Romanesque church of the same name, dating from the 11th or early 12th century.
The cross features a depiction of Christ and Our Lady of Sorrows with a dagger, as well as a capital adorned with leaves and volutes. Its slender, monolithic shaft is decorated with various Passion-related motifs.
This cross is one of the most unique in Galicia due to its sculpted shaft and was selected along with other monuments, such as the cross and bridge of Pamplona, the church of Santiago in Sangüesa (Navarra), and Boadilla del Camino (Palencia), to be part of a commemorative series for the Xacobeo '99 celebrations.
